The About Page

About Page

The purpose of the About Page is to be the page that provides visitors with the basic information of who the staff of the church are, what the church believes, and what the history of that church is. This page starts with personal and professional information about the pastor. Then the history section briefly touches on the history of the church. The focus of that history section is to provide visitors and members with the history that teaches them what that church has stood for in the past and where that congregation still needs to stand. The necessity of the Trinity, the inerrancy of Scripture, and other doctrinal issues like that as it plays into the history of the church. Finally, this page provides a brief listing of the doctrinal stances of the church.

This preview is fully operational, so feel free to click anywhere.

You will notice that the preview is inset within this page and is not “fullwidth.” That was done on purpose so that it would be a page within a page. Please note that this will look best on your laptop or in landscape mode on your tablet.

The pastor’s name goes here under
what would be the pastor’s picture
(instead of this Bible).

Here would be the short bio of the pastor. He would mention things like:

  • Where he trained for the ministry
  • Where he grew up
  • What drives him as the pastor of that church
  • Basic family information (wife and children)
  • Links to any resources that he has (for example, an online blog)

The point of this section is to make the pastor approachable so that visitors feel like they know something about this pastor and they would feel comfortable with him looking after their souls.

Our History

Here is the section where you would put the history of this church. You would throw in pictures of the congregation currently as well as pictures of the sanctuary. It gives you a chance to explain what this church has believed for its entire history.

  • Why did this church start in the first place?
  • Who have the pastors been?
  • Are there any great quotes from any of those pastors?
  • What theological battles has this church (or denomination) stood during?
  • What about this church’s history is special to the members of this church?
  • And where do you see this church going in the next 25 years?

That is the purpose of this section of the website.

The Old Brick Church was built in 1788. It’s official name was Ebenezer ARP Church, and it had weekly worship services held in it from 1788 until the 1920s. It was the birthplace of the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in South Carolina.
